About YakDeck
YakDeck is a document-based guide to kayak fishing gear. It compares published manufacturer specifications, owner’s manuals, and official regulations for kayaks, pedal drives, fish finders, PFDs, rod holders, and transport equipment.
What YakDeck does
YakDeck links factual claims to the source that supports them. A dimension, capacity field, construction term, power requirement, approved-equipment rule, or legal statement is presented only when a manufacturer page, manual, regulation, or official government page can be linked at the point of the claim.
The site preserves manufacturer labels when they differ. For example, fitted-hull weight, fully rigged weight, assembled-boat weight, total capacity, and usable capacity are not silently treated as the same measurement. A source list can establish what a manufacturer publishes; it does not create an independent performance test.
What YakDeck does not do
YakDeck does not test kayaks on the water and does not claim ownership, field use, or first-person product experience. It does not turn a product feature list into a claim about speed, stability, comfort, durability, fit, or compatibility unless a directly applicable source supports that claim.
Where a page identifies an owner consensus, it will name the basis as published owner reports and will not present the consensus as a measurement. When the available sources do not establish an answer, YakDeck says so rather than filling the gap with a specification, model number, price, or review quote.
Source and relationship policy
YakDeck currently links to manufacturer pages, manuals, and official government sources. It does not presently earn commissions from those links. The full statement is available in the YakDeck affiliate disclosure.
